We went to see the play Oklahoma in Tulsa last weekend. It was at an amphitheater with real horses and guns. The cast were all student's from one of the colleges in Oklahoma City. They were amazing....they will probably be on Broadway someday. All these pictures were taken during the pre-show...they wouldn't allow any pictures to be taken during the play because a flash could be dangerous to the horses. It was a fun experience!

REAL thunderstorms....
You haven't experienced a real thunderstorm until you live in oklahoma and wake up at 3 am to the piercing sound of thunder and the brightest lightning you've ever seen. That was me last night (or i should say this morning...) around 3 am. Denali was so freaked out he was scratching on our bedroom door almost about to knock it down! Shabon willingly got up and slept on the couch to keep him calm so i could try and sleep. Our bed faces the front yard and we have 2 big vertical windows on either side of our tv. So while I was trying to ignore everything...i couldn't help but look outside. I couldn't see much (since I was half asleep and the rain was poring like you wouldn't believe) but I was able to see the very dark silhouette of the big tree every time the lightning struck. It was scary. Needless to say it took awhile to fall back asleep and i'm really tired today. I hope all of you slept better last night than me and shabon...;-)

farm animals galore!
We have been adding to our farm family from a new puppy...chicks...more chicks...kittens...and now horses! As far as the kittens go we started with 2 (which I named calvin and hobbes in memory of my 2 cats as a child) but now we have a 3rd kitten. She followed us down from the barn where we were keeping the horses. There are 6 more kittens up there that have managed to stay put. There are also multiple goats up at Harvey's house (shabon's dad) with a rooster, duck, and oh yea a new baby deer (it looks just like bamby) i haven't gotten any pictures of them yet. We adopted 2 horses from a lady in Kansas who just didn't have the time to ride them. They are both broke and very gentle. The chicks are growing very fast and we've got more baby chicks as well. My job is going great...I can't believe it's been almost a month since i've started! Shabon is doing really well at his job and made it in the top 3 for salesman of the month! We miss all of you so much, I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. Stay tuned for more posts...I promise it won't be as long for the next one :-)

New Job
Hey everyone! Just wanted to let ya know I got a job as a Warranty Administrator at Bob Moore Ford in Oklahoma City. It's exactly 60 miles from my house and just about an hour drive each way. It didn't seem too bad of a commute when I went down there for my interview, but we'll see how it is early in the morning. The dealership is right off the highway so it's really easy to get there. I will be starting on Thursday...I would be starting sooner but they don't have an office ready for me. It sounds like they are purchasing all new office furniture for me so that's pretty cool. Currently they are using an outside warranty company out of Dallas, TX and it's just not working out anymore. They really need someone in house to be able to help them since the service manager only has a couple years experience with Ford. (His experience is mainly with GM.) His name is Randy Hadler and he seems really nice and not at all intimidating. He really wants me to go in there and teach him what I know and be able to help the advisor's with their paperwork. I'm really excited to start a new job in what seems like a much more laid back dealership than what i'm used to! They only have 3 advisor's and 10 technican's so I don't think i'll have any issues. Once I get my feet wet i'll let you know how it's going.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Chic-a-dee-dee
We have some chicks! It has definetley been a learning experience, unfortunetley,we didn't do it quite right. We only have about a 50% hatch rate since we didn't set the eggs in the incubator correctley. You are supposed to set the eggs in with the pointy end down so the air sack can develop in the fat end. Since we put them in pointy side up (like you see them in a crate when you buy them) the chicks don't know where to come out. They end up trying to get out the middle of the egg (where the membrane is) which is mostly unsuccessful. So far we have 20 chicks and hopefully a few more on the way. All the dogs are very interested!

Teddie
Since I was given this puppy by Shabon's uncle Eddie I thought it would be nice to name him after his uncle. So I thought about it and the more I looked at him, he looks like a little teddy bear. So I named him Teddie...still has eddie in it! Thanks for all your suggestion's though! Here are some new pics...he's getting cuter every day.
